Description

This poster documents the Europhelch ’94 tour featuring Cows and Hammerhead, two of the most uncompromising and confrontational bands to emerge from the American Midwest underground. Both groups were closely associated with the AmRep/Twin Cities noise scene, known for its abrasive sound, confrontational live performances, and rejection of mainstream rock conventions. By 1994, Cows had built a reputation across Europe for their caustic blend of punk, blues, and noise rock, while Hammerhead’s relentless, drill-sergeant intensity made them a cult favorite among hardcore audiences. Designed by Coop, the poster reflects his early-’90s graphic sensibility—bold, aggressive, and unapologetically raw—mirroring the sonic violence and nihilistic humor of the bands themselves. Printed by Wackyland Pacific, the piece stands as a sharp document of a moment when American noise rock found particularly fertile ground with European audiences eager for louder, harsher underground music.
