Description

This poster commemorates an August 23, 1997 show at San Francisco’s Bottom of the Hill featuring the Dwarves, Zeek, and U.S. Bombs, a lineup that captures the raw, confrontational spirit of late-’90s American punk. The Dwarves were already notorious for their abrasive sound, confrontational performances, and anti-establishment ethos, while U.S. Bombs—fronted by Duane Peters—embodied the street-level aggression of West Coast punk, blending hardcore urgency with outlaw imagery; Zeek rounded out the bill with a similarly unpolished, underground approach. Designed by Alan Forbes, a key figure in Bay Area poster art, the print reflects his deep ties to the punk and garage scenes and his ability to translate their intensity into bold, instantly recognizable graphics.
