Description
This rare poster documents a September 18, 1993 show at CBGB, dubbed Clusterfuck ’93, bringing together Today Is the Day, Chokebore, and Guzzard—three bands operating at the abrasive, experimental edge of early-1990s underground rock. Today Is the Day were emerging as a defining force in noise metal, known for their chaotic structures and confrontational performances, while Chokebore blended dissonant post-hardcore with brooding, literate songwriting, and Guzzard contributed a raw, sludge-tinged intensity rooted in the U.S. noise scene. Designed by Coop, the poster reflects his early concert work, pairing stark, raunchy and aggressive imagery with a stripped-down graphic approach that mirrors the uncompromising sound of the lineup. As a signed and numbered piece from a small edition, it stands as a strong document of CBGB’s continued role in the 1990s as a proving ground for heavy, nonconformist underground music.
