Description

This poster documents a March 26, 1997 performance by Widespread Panic at the Warfield in San Francisco, capturing the band during a period when they were rapidly expanding beyond their Southern roots into a nationally recognized touring force. By the late 1990s, Widespread Panic had become synonymous with extended improvisation, road-tested musicianship, and a devoted fan base that followed the band from city to city, placing them firmly within the lineage of American jam-oriented rock acts. Designed collaboratively by Joel Elrod and Arlene Owseichik, the poster forms part of the Warfield and Bill Graham Presents poster tradition, documenting major touring acts as they passed through San Francisco’s historic theaters.
